Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose is weighing in on the controversial killing of a giraffe at a zoo in Denmark.
The rocker sent out a series of apparently sarcastic tweets this week about "enjoying the lion's share of some tasty baby Giraffica sliders," adding "what'll them crazy Danes think of next."
Just enjoying the lion's share of some tasty baby Giraffica sliders! Mmmmm! What'll them crazy Danes think of next!— Axl Rose (@axlrose) February 10, 2014
But seriously, let me get this straight... The Danes killed a 2yr old baby giraffe, chopped it up n' fed him (cont) http://t.co/rYoVVMTV5t— Axl Rose (@axlrose) February 11, 2014
Lemme get a Giraffica, a homemade cherry Danish, some o' them pre-fried Pepper's... Oh! n' a liter of cola!— Axl Rose (@axlrose) February 11, 2014
Officials at the Copenhagen Zoo said their duty to avoid inbreeding forced them to euthanize the healthy animal this past Sunday, dismember it in front of a zoo audience, and feed it to the lions.
Rose said in another tweet that he didn't realize inbreeding was such a big problem over in Denmark, but he's not sure how the giraffe's death will help fix it. It's unclear just how upset Axl is, however, since he finished his message by writing "just kidding" and adding a smiley face.
