Indians, Reds set to open up Cactus League play

(GOODYEAR, Ariz.) – The Cleveland Indians are set to begin Cactus League exhibition play this afternoon at 3:05 pm ET against the Cincinnati Reds at Goodyear Ballpark and their lineup has been announced.

The Tribe’s starting lineup does not feature 1B Nick Swisher or 3B/C Carlos Santana, along with a few other everyday players that fans are familiar with, however Indians manager Terry Francona is anxious to watch certain non-roster invites who are battling for jobs in camp.

Right-hander Trevor Bauer will start for the Indians and pitch one inning. Bauer will be followed by veteran righty Aaron Harang.

The Cincinnati Reds start right-hander Alfredo Simon.

Here are the lineups for today’s Cactus League opener between the Indians and Reds.

Indians:

4. Lonnie Chisenhall 3B

Reds:

1. Billy Hamilton CF

2. Brandon Phillips 2B

3. Joey Votto 1B

4. Jay Bruce RF

5. Ryan Ludwick LF

6. Todd Frazier 3B

7. Zack Cozart SS

8. Devin Mesoraco C

9. Brayan Pena DH

Both teams are opening up their Cactus League exhibition schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
