(Stow)- There’s been another black bear sighting in northeast Ohio.
Stow Police say the bear was seen around 8am Monday in the area of Route 91 in the Heather Hills neighborhood. There was a sighting last week in Lake County.
Black bears are native to Ohio and there were more than 200 black bear sightings in Ohio in 2012. They are on the endangered species list and all black bears are protected by state law.
Police advise residents to keep their distance and remain calm if they see a bear. Black bears are usually fearful of people and do not attack. If you see a bear, call 1-800-945-3543. You can find out more about black bears at www.wildohio.com.
