(Wickliffe) - A man has been charged with shooting his roommate over the weekend.
56-year-old Lawrence Barichon was shot in the 1700 block of East 290th Street in Wickliffe.
The suspect; 53-year-old Kevin Cox, has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder, a first degree Felony offense. His bond has been set at $500,000 cash/surety and he is being transferred to the Lake County Jail. A preliminary hearing that will be held at 1:00 PM on April 11.
Police say Barichon is still hospitalized but is alert and talking, and his prognosis is good. He was shot twice in the head. Cox refused to come outside when police arrived
Neighbors tol WTAM 1100 that a dispute over clothing may have led to the shooting. Police responded Saturday after calls about multiple gunshots being fired around noon.
Police first found Barichon, who had been grazed in the head by a bullet. He was able to walk to an ambulance under his own power, but left a small trail of blood.
Barichon was rushed to the hospital. Police sealed off the area and warned residents to stay inside their homes.
Later they arrested Cox who had been hiding inside the house. After being talked into coming outside, Cox was forced onto the ground, cuffed and taken away.
A neighbor tells WTAM 1100 that the two are brothers, and Barichon was shot by Cox because he wore an item of clothing he wasn't supposed to.
