(Cleveland) - Tuesday marks one year since Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from the Seymour Avenue home of Ariel Castro.
The trio had been held captive inside the Cleveland home for a decade. In a statement released Monday, Berry thanks all the people who have helped and supported her and her family.
Berry goes on to say she has grown over the past year and is strong, adding she has so much to live for. She calls her future 'bright'.
Also in a statement released Monday, DeJesus offers thanks to everyone who donated to the Cleveland Courage Fund.
She goes on to say the past year has been amazing, filled with healing and hope. Gina says she's been enjoying new experiences, such as learning how to use technology and how to drive. Castro committed suicide in prison in September...
