Arrest made in police-involved shooting

(Cleveland) - A police involved shooting in Cleveland Wedneday morning.

The Cleveland Division of Police Use of Deadly Force Investigation Team is investigating a felonious assault on an on duty Cleveland Division of Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit Detective. It happened at approximately 2:30 a.m., at East 121st Street & Luke Avenue.

The preliminary investigation reveals the detective was processing a burglary scene. While at his vehicle, an unknown individual fired multiple shots at the detective. The detective returned fire. Fourth District Officers were notified and responded to the scene.

The CSI Detective is not reporting injury at this time.

A 31-year-old male was arrested Wednesday without incident in the 10300 block of Harvard Avenue. He is currently being held in the Division’s Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.
