Investigators try to determine what caused carbon monoxide leak in East Cleveland

(East Cleveland)  East Cleveland fire crews evacuated an apartment building at 16000 Terrace Road Saturday afternoon, after reports of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The residents have now been permitted to return home.

There are reports that rescue crews found the body of 79-year-old Barbara Kelley in Apartment 108.

It's not known yet if her death is related to the carbon monoxide situation.

University Hospitals staff called the fire department after several patients came into the emergency room, suffering symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

A total of six patients were hospitalized.  Two are said to be in critical condition.

Fire crews evacuated the building, then did a sweep of each floor to determine the cause of the carbon monoxide.
